Remembering Black Saturday
Now that you've done the research into what it means to be a member of Kinglake, you'll need to use that knowledge to design a monument that reflects the community in order to commemorate the Black Saturday bushfires.
As your final school yard design will incorporate a memorial somewhere on the grounds, in this section you will learn more about monuments and memorials and design a prototype of that you will incorporate in your school yard plan.
This statue of a tree, in Bendigo, is an example of a Black Saturday monument. Can you think of any other monuments or memorials you may have seen?
